To the "Long Night of Austria's Nature Parks" and international "Earth Night"

Would you like to observe the stars and planets above the Zillertal and Tux Alps through a telescope? Nature park guide Andreas Neurauter is not only a nature photographer, but also an expert on the night sky. For the international "Earth Night", he will show you a fascinating natural spectacle that will amaze you and make you think. Topics such as light pollution and the biodiversity of the night are not to be missed here.

We take a cab from Mayrhofen train station to Melchboden on the Zillertaler Höhenstraße. Please bring warm clothing, gloves, cap, headlamp, snack and tea. If you wish, you can also bring your camera with lens and tripod.

The "Long Night of the Nature Parks" was not chosen by chance by the Association of Austrian Nature Parks (VNÖ), the initiator, as it is the international Earth Night - an initiative of the Godfathers of the Night against light pollution. On this evening, people are called upon to do without artificial light outdoors for one night. This campaign offers ideal conditions for an unforgettable night-time nature experience in the Austrian nature parks.
